“FINDING THE REMNANT” tells the story of Remnant, who is on the quest to find a modern-day Early Church like that recorded in the Bible. His passion for this church incurs immense ridicule & rejection from the closest people around him, who try to dissuade him from his heart’s desire. Unbeknownst to him, however, God has hidden another remnant close by who holds the answer to his dream.

Note from Director:

“FINDING THE REMNANT” was conceived sometime in July 2023, as we started thinking ahead about how we would celebrate the 10^th anniversary of our church at the end of this year.

Given the significance of this milestone, we were inspired to create something new to mark the occasion – something we had never tried before, that all our members could take part in, and also reflected the journey our church has taken these past 10 years.

Soon, however, as the storyline of Remnant and his quest for a church like that of the Early Church of Acts began to take shape, we realised that we were documenting not only our journey, but the journey of many believers out there in the world, who are also pursuing such a vision, but may have grown disheartened and feel misunderstood.

Hence we felt led to release this movie in hope that the Church at large may be awakened, strengthened, encouraged and inspired.

As we follow Remnant’s journey to find the Church that the Bible talks about, we feel the frustration he has when no one takes him seriously, and provide alternative solutions which only leave him more dissatisfied. Yet, because of his persistence in holding on to the Word, not only does he miraculously find what he is looking for, but the people around him start to respond to the truth that he professes.

In the process of making this film, we have had to examine in what ways our lives are different from the story we have written. The truth is, we are not there yet. The church of God is still far from looking like the one we desire to be. There is still a hint of Sardis in us – ‘alive’ but spiritually dead. A part of Laodicea – neither hot nor cold, materially abundant but spiritually poor. Areas that look like Corinthian – where worldliness has permeated into the church.

Still, we hold fast to the faithfulness & mercy of God, who by His Spirit will bring to completion what He has started in us. We also believe that He is seeking out all those whose hearts desire to see such a Church alive in our days, and who are determined to embark on the path that is less travelled, but paved with glory.
